Sol de Ibiza Face & Body Sunscreen Stick is an all-natural, certified organic and vegan sunscreen with SPF50. It is completely cruelty free and plastic free and made to protect people of all ages from sun, wind and pollution in every environment.
Sol De Ibiza is safe and tested for use on sensitive skin. It’s water resistant to 40 minutes and fragrance free to avoid sensitisation or allergic reactions during sun exposure. For this reason it is particularly suitable for children.
No heavy metals, no chemicals, no fragrances, no preservatives.
Why Safe Sunscreen Matters?
UV rays can take a toll on your skin in major ways: sunburn, premature skin ageing, and — the big one — skin cancer.
The sunscreen you put on your and your kids’ bodies day in and day out doesn’t just evaporate into thin air. It’s either absorbed into your body, washed off into the water you swim in, or both. That’s precisely why safe sunscreen matters. Because when sunscreen absorbs into your skin, it can directly impact your health.
And when sunscreen washes off into the ocean water you swim in, it affects the coral reefs, the fish, and other sea creatures (which, in turn, affects us if we eat them!).
There is particular concern about oxybenzone, an ingredient commonly used in certain types of sunscreens. When this ingredient gets absorbed into the human body, it can pass through the placental barrier and end up in a mother’s breast milk. It can also disrupt hormone levels for both men and women.
Plus, this chemical is just plain irritating for people with sensitive skin or skin conditions. Not to mention it bleaches the coral reefs.
How can Sol de Ibiza be so effective and totally innocent?
Sol de Ibiza use certified natural and organic ingredients, including Aloe Vera from Ibiza. They never use fragrances or preservatives, their products are vegan, never tested on animals and they are reef-safe. Plus, they use plastic-free packaging only!
Sol de Ibiza offer broad spectrum (UVA & UVB) protection for all the family, using Non-Nano Zinc Oxide as a filter.
Zinc oxide is a mineral and is the active ingredient of Sol de Ibiza that actually does the work of blocking the sun and protecting your skin from the damaging rays. Zinc oxide sits on top of your skin (rather than soaking in, like chemical sunscreens do) and protects you by scattering, absorbing, and reflecting the sun’s rays.
What about the “Non-Nano” part?
Let’s put this into really simple terms: a nanoparticle is super small. Non-nano refers to particles that aren’t so tiny. And, it turns out, non-nano is what you want when it comes to mineral sunscreen.
The concern with these super-small nanoparticles is that they might find their way into your body by penetrating your skin and getting into your bloodstream. And while a nanoparticle will potentially enter your bloodstream, a non-nano particle won’t. For that reason, non-nano is considered safer.
Plus, nano-sized particles are so small that they could be ingested by aquatic organisms, and we don’t want that either.

About Sol de Ibiza
Water has been my life since my early years. Water is my element, my passion. Water has been my job for many years.
I moved to Ibiza in 2015 as a deliberate shift away from my previous 100-flights-a-year career.
I fell in love with the beautiful deep Mediterranean waters, so I started swimming open water every day in every condition all year around.
The island gets extremely busy in the summer and one day I was finishing a long swim and passing a point, I clearly remember the smell of disgusting chemical.
To be sincere sitting on the beach with my family I never actually though about how the chemical of the sunscreen products could affect the quality of the water.
I knew about natural sunscreen from my wife. She’s Australian and she grew up in a country with much more awareness about skin problems.
One day a friend of mine came to me with the idea of creating a natural sunscreen, I embraced the Sol de Ibiza project straight away and through some basic researches I quickly realized how chemical free products would be beneficial not only for the skin but also for the sea I love to swim in.
To make it happen the first step was the selection of the ingredients, we sourced local Aloe Vera from Ibiza ecological center Casita Verde and we found a lab that was willing to work with us to create our vision.
A sunscreen made by natural ingredients only, which is good for kids, adults and the environment.
What we definitely didn’t want, was to produce another piece of plastics that could find his way into the sea, that’s why Sol de Ibiza is completely plastic-free.
